I finished the next hundred, and took my La Passion out to play in the snow.

Island Batik Ambassador

Now I can tell you:
I'm an Island Batik ambassador

My box arrived yesterday, and today I've spent looking at all those fantastic fabrics.

As you can see, the box also brought me thread from
and

I just had to try some of the fabric at once, and as I love pincushions, it had to be an
Island Batik pincushion.

I'm sew thankful to be chosen as an Island Batik Ambassador, and I'm looking forward to sewing beautiful things to show you all soon.

A new milestone with 11 000 hexies. Only 6 000 left, and my plan still is to finish it before Christmas. I took it outside to find the spring flowers. But tomorrow we are going to have snow, they say. The pattern you'll find at Grit's Life, in case you are tempted to start this project.

I'm struggeling with the deadline here, and think I will manage. Here is my quilt for the challenge, and I've started the quilting two hours before deadline. But I did it! Jump over to Persimon Dreams and Project Quilting to look at all the other beautiful quilts made.

The quilt is about 14"x21".

You may now vote for the 10 best quilts. Mine is #116.

En Provence - almost finished top

This week I've tried to finish the top on this quilt. The pattern is from Bonnie Hunter, and I love it. It was impossible to take pictures outside today, and my quilt almost flew away. I still have another row and some fourpatches to join. But next week I have a "date" with my longarm quilter, so I have to hurry up.

Candygram mini-quilt

Mønster og framgangsmåte finner du her.

On Caroline's blog you can find the February pattern for this mini-quilt. Every month this year she will give us a new pattern. Jump over to find tons of inspiration.

Do you see the difference from last hundred? I find it difficult to do so. But a hundred hexies, that's a lot, and I can tell you, it takes a long time to do. I've used the last week on finishing some ongoing projects before I'm starting something new and exciting. I'm waiting for the postman to come, and you will know more about that next week, hopefully.

Today I weighed the quilt, and it's already 1,8 kilos. It may be possible to find out how much fabrics I've used.

Béa et Cécile Quilt-a-Long

I'm taking part in Béa et Cécile log-cabin QAL in France. Now I can combine sewing and reading French. But I find it a bit difficult to write everything in French, so it's going to be English, as usual.

We are supposed to sew two log-cabin blocks every week for eight weeks. I've thought about making a quilt with scrappy and wonky house blocks for a long time, and now was the right time to do it. If you study the blocks, you'll see that I've put different animals in the windows.

Block 1-4

Block 5

Block 6

Block 7

Block 8

Then I'll put roofs on the houses, just now I finished the two first blocks.

I'm going to have some other blocks in my quilt, too. These are some of them, but I haven't decided yet how it's going to look like in the end. This quilt changes in my head every day, but I think I may call it a modern one, at least not a traditional quilt. Next month you'll find out how it's developing. My plan is to finish it in March.

If you go to Cécile's blog (traditional) or Béa's blog (modern), you can find out what others have come up with in January. So many different log-cabin quilts are beeing made, in totally different colourways and techniques.

Today I had to take the photoes before it got dark, and had to sew the last hexies afterwards. Many of you have asked how I count, and here I've tried to explain.

Every day I put 15 hexies in a bowl and join them to the body. Then I mark in the calendar.

If I sew more hexies that day, I join them into small parts. When I've hundred, I sew them to the body.
